What is a Steam key?

A Steam key is a unique code that lets you download and play a game through Steam. Think of it as a digital receipt that unlocks your game.

Don't have Steam? Download it free from store.steampowered.com/about/.

Getting your Steam key

When you buy a game from shop.rebellion.com, we'll email your Steam key immediately after purchase.

Pre-ordered a game? You'll get your key during the week of launch.

How to activate your Steam key

Quick version (if you know Steam)

1. Open Steam → Games menu
2. Click 'Activate a Product on Steam'
3. Paste your key and you're done

Step-by-step guide

1. Open Steam
   Sign in to your account and click 'Games' in the top menu
   
    
2. Start activation
   Select 'Activate a Product on Steam'
   
    
3. Accept terms
   Click 'Next', then 'I Agree' on the license agreement
    
4. Enter your key
   Copy the Steam key from our email and paste it in the 'Product Code' box
   
    
5. Confirm activation
   Click 'Next' to activate, then 'Finish' when you see the confirmation
   
    
6. Set up shortcuts (optional)
   Choose your desktop and Start menu preferences, then click 'Next'
   
    
7. Start downloading
   Accept the game's license agreement and click 'Finish'. Steam will start downloading your game.
   
    

Check your download

Go to Library → Downloads to see progress. Once it's done, you can play!
